High School Career Days Allow Juniors to Interview in Careers They are Interested In

This is the image for the news article titled High School Career Days Allow Juniors to Interview in Careers They are Interested InMore than 175 juniors at VAHS, including Jacqueline Paniagua (pictured to the left), are taking part in one-on-one, 30-minute interviews over a three-day period as they choose a career they are interested in learning more about. Paniagua met with Reed Peterson of Reed Peterson & Associates, LLC to pursue her interest in law. Other career interests include countless areas such as journalism, psychology, film editing and movie production, sports agents, dentistry, teaching, journalism and MORE!

Mike Yaktus (pictured on right below), a retired advisor from Madison Investment Advisors, returned for his second year to interview with another VAHS junior. 

"I think it's a great opportunity for kids to ask questions. As a junior, you don't know exactly what career path you desire yet, but this helps them find direction." He added that it's important to share with students that they should get involved in as many things as they can in school (clubs, organizaions, etc) "The student I talked to today is very driven, and I'm sure he will go places!"

This is one of two Career Days, as the other will be held next April.
