What makes this unique is the high school students are learning life lessons on character traits, but also able to share what they learned by teaching the elementary students at the same time!

This week was on respect, following past lessons covering perseverance and courage. High Schooler Korben Bergmann (pictured below) shared, "This partnership is great since I hope to be a bio medical engineer someday, but I know I need to work on my leadership skills so I can manage other engineers in the future."

The high school students also remain with the 5th graders through morning recess to model how to work through conflict on the playground. Today's lesson involved a "martial-arts" related activity that allowed students to learn about trusting others, leading into their lesson on respect.
