Bucky Badger and Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board Team Up
to Encourage Wisconsin Students to Eat a Healthy Breakfast
Madison, WI - The Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board sponsored a visit from Bucky Badger at Stoner Prairie Elementary during National School Breakfast week March 7th-11th. The school planned special menus, promotions and exciting events to welcome Bucky Badger and promote the benefits of eating a healthy breakfast.
“School breakfast ensures a nutritious start to the day and supplies 1/4 of the Recommended Daily Allowances student’s need,” explains Laura Wilford, Director of the Wisconsin Dairy Council. “School breakfasts are healthy, nutritious meals that provide a variety of foods including low-fat or fat-free milk, cheese and yogurt that give students the fuel needed to start the day.”
In addition to being full of good nutrition, school breakfast helps students achieve their classroom goals. National studies consistently confirm that breakfast helps kids concentrate, think, behave and learn.
