Izell and Evan, 6th graders at Savanna Oaks, participated in their first ever Special Olympics event-- the Regional Special Olympics Track and Field competition on Saturday, May 7, at the Oregon High School.

Teacher Maria Carvalho has been training with them for 2 months and celebrated 
Izell who got first place in his division for the 25 m walk, softball throw and long standing jump earning a spot at the State competition in Stevens Point in early June.

Evan got first place for the long standing jump and sixth place for the softball throw. Congratulations on their first competition for such a successful outcome!
