Governor Evers recently declared that Public and Private Schools in Wisconsin will be closed for the duration of the health emergency. As the length of this emergency cannot be predicted at this time, we can safely say that we will NOT be back in our school buildings on Monday, April 6th. VASD's virtual learning will continue as we prepare for the possibility of school closures for the remainder of this school year. See below for additional information from our most recent communications...

Note: As a reminder, free cold lunches and breakfasts will be available for all students age 18 and under on a grab-and-go basis from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. during spring break week and for the coming weeks (subject to change after spring break). Students do NOT need to be present and ID numbers are not needed. Meals are available at the following locations:
•Harriet Park Shelter, 414 Mary Lou St, Verona
•Nakoma Heights Community Room, 4929 Chalet Gardens Rd, Fitchburg
•Stone Crest Apartments Community Room, 5673 King James Ct, Fitchburg
•New Fountain Apartments tennis court area, 5401 Williamsburg Way, Fitchburg
•Hometown Junction Park, 101 W. Railroad St., Verona.

A Verona Area School District steering committee of administration, school nurses, student services and other medical professionals has been formed to provide information and guidance on the Coronavirus (COVID-19) for staff, students and families. We encourage all individuals who have symptoms to:
1. Call their healthcare provider before making a visit; or

We are in the midst of the annual cold and flu season and precautions are always warranted. Those precautions / prevention measures include:

• Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
• Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
• Stay home when you are sick.
• Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
• Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
